Roma people in present-day Central and Eastern Europe
Sociologie Romaneasca will devote issue 1 / 2011 to Roma issues in present day Central and Eastern Europe. Twenty years after the fall of communism, have the lives of Roma people changed, and in what directions? What does it mean to be Roma / Gypsy today?
We welcome theoretical or empirical papers which explore Roma life trajectories and identities, as well as inter-ethnic relations, from a sociological or empirical perspective. Articles with a comparative approach or with theoretical relevance for understanding processes of ethnic differentiation will be the main focus of this issue.
Deadline for sending papers: April 30, 2010
Please send the papers as Word document, according to the formatting guidelines of Sociologie Romaneasca, to the Editors:

Community studies
Sociologie Romaneasca
will devote an issue (no. 2 / 2010) to Community Studies. The pretext is offered by the mid-20th century Romanian sociology, where the study of communities predominated. As a bridge over time, we intend to focus on what the community study is today. Essays, methodological studies, and empirical research are welcome to be included in the respective issue of our journal.

In order to allow the time for the peer-reviewing process, please submit your papers by the end of the year, either to the journal’s address  or directly to the editor of the issue: Bogdan Voicu (bogdan [at] iccv [dot] ro). For early manifestations of the intention to submit a paper or for any other question, please use the same contacts.
