The objectives of this study are to define the concept of "social fear", the outline social fears during the Communist period and during post-1989 period and the graphic representation of social fears. Throughout Romania's recent history (1945-2009), social fears have been experienced with variable intensity by different groups and social categories. The liberation of social fears is still an objective, not a reality.
